Grappig filmpje van een stelletje bibliothecarissen die zich vervelen?
Nee, het is van een student en de toelichting bij het filmpje vond ik tamelijk shockerend:
I did this fairly spontaneously at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s ACES Library. As a conceptual art project, it pokes fun at and criticizes the monotony and strictness of institutions and libraries.
It’s all real – no tricks here! It was set up in one dominoe line, but filmed in four takes. After I finished the last take, 4 hours into the project, the librarian finally came up to investigate the ruckus. She waved her finger and kicked me out and wouldn’t let me help pick up the books. Lucky for her I had kept all the books in their shelved order – easy cleanup!
Het shockerende zit hem wat mij betreft vooral in dat zwaaiende vingertje en het boos wegsturen. Hoezo stereotypen? Ik zou hem op zijn minst de troep laten opruimen en waarschijnlijk zou ik ook nog wel het filmpje willen zien. Vind het zelf wel geestig, vooral vanwege die mooie kleurtjes die zo verschuiven. Om het Conceptual Art te noemen vind ik wel weer wat overdreven…
Tenaanval is het blog van Jeanine Deckers. Noem mezelf militante bibliothecaris omdat ik vind dat bibliothecarissen veel te weinig voor hun eigen vak opkomen. En dat er nooit genoeg aandacht aan lezen en kunst besteed kan worden.
